Education = S.A.F.E. Lives

Welcome to the Waltham Fire Department Kid's Station. This online fire house contains all the tools and equipment that kids need to learn about living S.A.F.E. lives. Working with Waltham schools, we've created fun and interactive safety lessons for kid's of all ages.

Of course, here you can find Patches and Pluggy.  This dalmation and his custom fire truck respond to all the public schools in Waltham.  During Fire Prevention Week and throughout the year, you'll find Patches and our Waltham Firefighters/S.A.F.E. instructors spending time teaching your kids important life safety lessons.

S.A.F.E. (Student Awareness of Fire Education), is a State program dedicated to provide resources to local fire departments to conduct fire and life safety education programs in grades K-12. The mission is to enable students to recognize the dangers of fire and more specifically the fire hazards tobacco products pose.  The S.A.F.E. program teaches our Waltham fire fighters how to teach children and provides the resources, as well as funds, to do it.
